Two years ago, i was writing lyrics like sufjan stevens. Then it was bright eyes. Then the mountain goats. Now it’s the hold steady. It’s not that I don’t have my own voice, it’s that I’m speaking through a filter. Always a megaphone or a tin can radio or a hand clamped over my mouth.
